Ben Youngs started playing rugby at Holt RFC in Norfolk and progressed to follow in the footsteps of his father Nick who played scrum-half for both Leicester and England. Youngs made his Tigers first team bow in 2007 and still turns out for the Midlands side.
Youngs won the 2008 Under-20 Six Nations Grand Slam with England and made his senior debut as a 20-year-old in 2010. He went on the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia in 2013 alongside older brother and hooker Tom. The pair both started the second test on the victorious tour down under. He was again selected for the 2017 tour to New Zealand but dropped out to spend time with his family as brother Tom’s wife was seriously ill.
Youngs became England’s most-capped No9 in 2019 and became only the second Red Rose to bring up a century of caps after Jason Leonard. Youngs ran out for his 100th appearance against Italy in the delayed 2020 Six Nations game. He crowned the occasion by scoring two tries and being named man of the match as England won the Six Nations in Rome. He favours the Adidas Predator Malice Control.
