Known for his lightning speed, Jonny May has established himself as one of England’s greatest ever wingers. May came through the system at Gloucester and burst into the first team in 2009 having starred for England Under-20s.

The eccentric speedster played wing, full back and centre in his early years. His form in 2011 and 2012 for the Cherry and Whites earned him an opportunity for the England Saxons before he eventually progressed to the England senior side, earning his debut in Argentina in 2013. May has a handy habit of finishing incredible solo scores and picked up the Premiership try of the season for an effort against Harlequins in 2012.

His first test try came against New Zealand in 2014 and in typical fashion it was a long-range run which highlighted his elusive pace. May was the top try scorer in the 2019 Six Nations and carried his form into the Japan World Cup. He marked his 50th cap by notching a brace in the quarter-final win over Australia. He scored an incredible solo effort against Ireland in the Autumn Nations Cup in 2020. His brace in that game took him to 30 international tries, joint-second on the all-time list behind Rory Underwood. May favours the Nike Mercurial Superfly Elite’s for his lung-bursting scores.
