Centre Duncan Taylor was born in Northampton, England but to Scottish parents and grew up largely in Edinburgh and attended school in the Scottish capital. He also spent part of his childhood in Australia. Unlike many of his peers, Taylor did not play for any representative sides until he got a break by signing for Bedford Blues at 17. Some barnstorming Championship displays caught the eye of nearby Saracens and he arrived at Allianz Park on dual registration in 2011. He has since made over 100 appearances for Saracens, winning both the Premiership and European Champions Cup titles. A prolific player, Taylor’s progress has often been hampered by a number of injuries. In 2013 he was picked for Scotland A and completed his rise to the senior international ranks in the same year. Taylor debuted against Samoa and would have amassed more than his 28 caps if it wasn’t for ankle, shoulder and head injuries. He wears Nike Tiempo Legend 8 Elite boots.
