The crucial link between the forwards and the backs, fewer positions run more on a rugby pitch than a scrum-half. Required more and more in the modern game to be able to not just pass perfectly off both hands but kick perfectly off both feet too, as the box kick has become an established and integral part of rugby. Often the smallest player on the pitch, the boot choice for a scrum-half needs to be able to balance agility and kicking for maximum success.
