No8 Taulupe Faletau was born in Tonga and is the cousin of England internationals Mako and Billy Vunipola. His father Kuli played for Tonga at the 1999 World Cup and the family moved to Wales in 1997 when he signed for Ebbw Vale. He was nicknamed Toby as a kid. Faletau made his senior Dragons debut in 2009 after playing club rugby for Cross Keys and Newport RFC. He played for Wales Under-20s in the 2010 Junior World Cup. He made his full Wales debut in 2011 against the Barbarians and went to the World Cup in New Zealand in the same year. He won Grand Slams in 2012 and 2019 but missed out on the 2019 Rugby World Cup through injury. He toured with the British and Irish Lions in both 2013 and 2017. Domestically he joined Bath in 2016 and has played in the English Premiership since. Faletau has won 81 caps for Wales and scored seven tries. He wears the Nike Tiempo Legend boots.
